Simply The Best Yoga Hammocks In Australia

Frequently Asked Questions:

What fabric are your Yoga Hammocks?

Our Yoga Hammock fabric is a 40 denier Nylon Tricot with low stretch, it is a lightweight yet super strong and secure fabric.

Generally, commercial Yoga Hammocks are either Nylon Tricot fabric or a Polyester Interlock. We prefer and only stock low stretch Nylon, it has better long-term durability than Polyester and is more suitable for a studio environment and home use. Because of its low-medium stretch Nylon makes it a lot easier to work with for beginners and provides higher performance for professional use.

How long are your Yoga Hammocks?

Aerial Yoga Hammocks have a standard size of 5m, you can adjust the length and height of the hammock with either the rigging kit or the the knot. For more information on adjusting heights in this visit our How To's! page. If you require a longer length please contact us, we will be happy to send you a custom sized product.

What rigging hardware do I need?

Our most popular kit for Yoga Hammock is the Direct Connect rigging:

  • 2 Daisy Chains - To attach to the rigging point and to the hardware
  • 2 Carabiners - To attach the fabric to the Daisy Chains

What are the load limits of your equipment?

Please visit the Safety Information page for load limits and safe usage instructions for all our equipment.

How far apart should the ceiling mounts be installed for an Aerial Yoga Hammock?

This is up to personal preference and varies depending on the size of the person. We recommend 45-55cm apart, about shoulder width. You can also hang the hammock from one rigging point, however, we typically recommend 2 attachment points for Aerial Yoga for better stability.

How high should I hang the Hammock?

Height depends on personal preference. For most Aerial Yoga classes, we recommend that the hammock to falls about hip height - low enough that you can bend over in a forward fold, but high enough that your head will not touch the ground when inverted. Hammock height is easily adjustable by using different loops on the Daisy Chains that come with the Direct Connect rigging kit or by adjusting the Choke Loop in the Prusik Connect kit. Some studios will raise the fabric higher for more 'aerial style' classes, or lower to knee height for restorative yoga. For more information on adjusting heights in this visit our How To's! page.

How do I store my Hammock when not in use?

All our Hammocks come with a beautiful bag so you can store and transport it safely.

Can you do a custom or personalized order?

We can create any custom length hammock, prices will vary depending on length. Contact us for custom order.

Can I cut the material?

Yes, you can safely strip your fabric from either direction (horizontal or vertical) without the need for searing.

How do I wash solid colour or hand-dyed Hammocks?

Remove all rigging from the fabric! You can use gentle laundry soap and a small amount of fabric softener. You may add a few drops of a scented essential oil of your liking when washing.

To dry, use low heat or most preferably an 'air dry' setting, take the material out to undo knots it every 10 minutes or until dry. Or you can hang dry the material in your home. We do not recommend hanging in the sun to dry. Some colors are sensitive to UV.

Will the Fabric Fade?

We recommend not leaving your fabric in direct sunlight for more than a few hours (next to a window, outside etc...) or fading may occur with prolonged exposure.

How do I take care of the equipment?

For all our products:

  • Avoid using it in direct sunlight. This may fade or weaken the fabric.
  • Do not leave any product in adverse weather. Always pack away indoors in the dry after use.
  • We advise to not wear jewellery, zips, hair clips, or any item that may tear the fabric. If this occurs, discontinue use. We are not liable for any damages after you have taken delivery of your order.
  • Check your equipment before every use for damage and correct rigging and discontinue use immediately if anything is of concern or equipment is damaged.
  • Ensure you understand and get professional advice regarding weight limits and max load on products.
  • Ensure you rig your equipment up each use (including attaching hardware, re-knotting fabric, attaching slings) to ensure the hardware and rigging and products are secure – do not leave hung up permanently.

We advise replacing Hammocks, and hardware after 12 months to ensure safety regardless of their condition or immediately when damage occurs. Be proactive with your safety. We are not liable for any damage or accidents with any product.
